Raw Food “Cooking” Class

Over the past several months, we’ve been getting a question from many of our customers,

     “When are you going to do a raw food ‘cooking’ class?”

Well now to answer your question, on Sunday January 29th we have former Raw Aura chef Doug McNish coming to teach the raw food basics we all need to know to begin to really integrate this cuisine into our lives. The class we be held at 1pm for a total of three hours. In addition to the raw lifestyle basics, there are a number of recipes you will be stocked with to get you on your way including:

  • nut/seed milk
  • green smoothie
  • kale salad with a creamy tahini dressing
  • zucchini noodles in a tomato basil marinara sauce
  • almond parmesan cheese
  • red beet ravioli with a cashew ricotta and a red pepper marinara sauce
  • chocolate avocado mousse
  • berry cashew cheesecake squares

We are very exited to be able to host this class for you. To book your reservation please call us at the restaurant at 905-891-2872 and leave us your details and credit card number. The cost of the class is going for $100 all-inclusive. Due to high demand we ask that there are no cancellations one week prior to January 29th.

Doug McNish, remember him? Of course you do and he’s back at Raw Aura to share with you, taste!  You don’t have to take our word for it, check it out for yourself.

  • Amuse
{Heirloom tomato plate, brazil nut feta, torn basil, tomato oil, balsamic reduction}
  • 1st course
{Sweet Corn and Red Pepper Chowder, fermented dill cucumber raita}
  • 2nd
{Sea vegetables, broccoli, bok Choy, lemon, ginger and spirulina tahini cream}
  • 3rd
{Miso glazed mushrooms, dashi broth. Spicy sesame orange watercress, red pepper purée. Pickled burdock and nabba cabbage slaw, chinese five spice and tamarind vinaigrette}
  • 4th
{Caramelized peach tartlet, cinnamon almond cream, blueberry ginger coulis}

Now that Pavlov’s dogs are barking, now would be the best time to secure your seat at Doug McNish’s tasting. Raw Aura will be hosting this great event on Saturday July 30th.

The cost is $60 pp with an optional wine pairing for $20, or a blueberry grapefruit superfood elixr with E3 live and mesquite  for $10.

RSVP by phone [905-891-AURA(2872)]. Seats are filling fast, so the sooner you book the better. Since seating is limited there are two tastings:

  • one at 6:00pm (have to be out by 8:00pm)
  • and one at 8:00pm.

Raw/Vegan Festival

Toronto’s 1st Annual Raw/Vegan Festival is here. Festivals are great and a sure sign of truth. We are proud to support this festival as it not only stands for our health, but our best health. This year we won’t have a booth, but are spreading the word as if we did.

June 11th, 2011 is the date to remember.

Admission is free!
